The 2024 Mazda CX-90 will be equipped out of the gate with a powerful in-line six-cylinder e-SKYACTIV engine, delivering 280 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque with regular fuel. It has an impressive fuel economy rating of 9.9 L/100 km in the city and 8.4 L/100 km on the highway, thanks to its mild hybrid 48-volt electrification system.
The upper trim levels of the 2024 Mazda CX-90 will feature a more potent version of the same engine, delivering an impressive 340 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque with premium fuel. Despite its powerful performance, this engine still maintains an average fuel economy rating of just 10.3 L/100 km in the city and 8.5 L/100 km on the highway.
Last but not least in the line-up of engines is the impressive 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV. This special e-SKYACTIV plug-in hybrid engine features a 2.5-litre four-cylinder paired with an electric motor and a 17.8-kWh battery, giving it 323 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The official all-electric range should be over 50 kilometres, but final numbers haven’t been confirmed yet.
There will be multiple versions of the 2024 Mazda CX-90. The entry-level CX-90 will start at $45,900 while CX-90 models featuring the more powerful version of the inline-six powertrain will start at $59,300. The Mazda CX-90 PHEV will start at $54,900. There are three versions of the PHEV trim, two versions with the more powerful engine option, and four versions of the entry-level CX-90.
